The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI) - an initiative of the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) - today announced its Eighth Celebrity Concert Season. A musical ensemble that has put India on the world map of western classical music, the SOI since its inception over three years ago, has already presented seven masterful concerts featuring some of the most celebrated artistes of our times. The Eighth Celebrity Concert Season in February 2010 is dedicated to the theme of Romance and will feature works largely from the Romantic era.

Hence his approach is sensitive and empathetic.

The Guild Art Gallery presents Categorical Imperatives curated by Khaled Ramadan and Anni Venalainen. The show, will present video works by young contemporary Middle-Eastern artists including Raed Yassin, Mahmoud Hojeji, Ayman Ramadan, Dalia Al – Kury, Mounira Mounira, Najib Mrad and Khaled Ramadan. The themes explored are encounters between people, situations of life and points of view. All of these also relate to the theme of otherness. The spectator on the other hand is in dialogue with the artworks looking for his/her position with the perspectives represented in them.

This collection of Limited Edition Serigraphs titled ‘The Complete Collection’ by Sakti Burman will be showcased in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata. The show has taken three years to complete with the artist and Lavesh working in close co-ordination.

Players are recruited internationally, including Resident Conductor, Zane Dalal, plus a core of instrumentalists drawn from the West Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra.
