This biennial city event, which began in 1990, has come to be rated high on the world’s documentary film festival circuit. This edition onwards, some changes have been introduced: the `Competition’ category now covers both International and Indian sections. An award for Best Student Film/Video has been introduced. Screenings include Oscar-nominated films, films on cinema legends and unsung heroes of the Indian freedom movement. The ‘Country Focus’ will have films from Bhutan, France and Chile.
